The past seven days have been so amazing, skiing in France again was exhilarating on the black slopes. The week has been fantastic because it has brought everyone together whether by people hanging around and talking with people you rarely hang around with in school. – Andy Cooper

This week has been a great load of fun. The food was good but at the odd time I didn’t like it. The staff have been amazing and the bar made us what we wanted! I wish I could go in Y9!!! – Chelsey
I didn’t like it the food was awful and the kids a pain! No really this is the first residential trip I’ve been on and it’s been “fab”. The kids have been brilliant and have all joined in every activity together. The skiing has been good even if there has been a lack of snow and I was pleasantly surprised when no one took the Mickey out of my skiing talent! (The kids were better than me!) As for the company we went with SkiBound. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and the food was 5* quality, Overall a brilliant week – if you go again Mr Farley can I please come? – Miss Parnell
A big thank you to all involved in this well organised and enjoyable educational visit. It was very educational seeing Mrs Spence and Miss Parnell on the slopes. It was good to be involved with a school visit again and the Head should be proud of the achievements of all. - Mr Porter

Sunday 3rd April

Last nights evening meal was as good as the food throughout the week and the chocolate brownies proved popular. The came the thanks to all the staff who had made our stay so good.
A surprise thank you from the students to Mr F and a return thank you to the students for the great tee shirt and chocolate mouse.
The evening was quite relaxing with a movie night allowing time for everyone to pack and get over the excitement of the Baggies beating Liverpool. Match of the Day was not an option as with the time change it would not come on until 11:30 local time and everyone needed to be up for 6:00 a.m..

Sunday 3rd April

At 6:00 a.m. the mountains were silhouetted against the sky although quickly shades of crimson start to streak across the landscape lighting up the white peaks. Students are quickly up and down to breakfast. A quick check Jeremy Doyle’s group are missing… they had the ability to answer the knock on the door in their sleep and then drop off again. Finally they join us for breakfast. Jade has been up since four fixing her mascara and there is a mixture of excitement and disappointment. After breakfast there is real emotion as some of the students say goodbye to the staff they have known for only a week but have contributed to a memory that will last a lifetime. The years will pass by and names will fade but the images in the mind of skiing or snowboarding for the first time will remain.

The coach arrives and we load quickly. Once on board and we start our roller coaster ride down into the valley tracing the route of the Tour de France each hairpin bend named after a different hero of the epic struggle of man and machine against the mountains. We get the base of the resort and can view how little snow is left at the top and realise how lucky we have been. The hotel is full for the next three weeks and it will be a struggle for groups coming in. We motor on down the valley floor twisting and turning our way through villages with the diminutive white caps peering down on use bidding a fond farewell. Fortunately no signs of Huey or Ralph and as the valley floor flattens, oops I spoke too soon, the chatter starts to build almost in relief that our decent is over. Grenoble airport will be its normal nightmare no doubt. Restricted check ins, long queues and no one really knowing what is going on. For the Skibound staff it is another routine change over although for the students it is the end of a unique journey, a journey in which they have all learned something about themselves and about their fellow travellers. For the staff too it has been a great experience seeing individuals facing their personal challenges whether on the slopes or simply being away from home or the first time.

The staff at the Belle Aurore were highly complimentary about our students, perhaps we look too closely for faults, but I can honestly say that Norton students have continued to with their reputation for behaving and being a positive example while abroad. Just one snow cap peak left as we close on the peage and Grenoble airport.

As the battery runs out on the laptop just enough time for a personal vote of thanks to all the staff who have contributed to another highly successful ski week. Thanks for giving up your time and energy, you have been away from your families looking after our charges for seven days, on call 24 hours a day whether dealing with sickness in the middle of the night or forgotten goggles half way up a mountain. I know the students are grateful and they express their gratitude quite differently. Thank you for helping to change and shape the way our students from Norton Canes High School view the world. If anyone ever questions the educational experience of such a trip I would say get on board for the journey and you also will come back changed person and if you don’t ate you in the right profession. A week out of school is nothing to what has been learned this week. We have experienced the geography, language, physical education, history, economics, I.T. and mathematics of life. What a crying shame if its value is only judged if you can record a starting point and the progress made against fixed criteria.

Grenoble airport turned out to be quite efficient although Colbie chose to buy the biggest tub of ice cream just as we were going through customs and Chelsea handed over her passport and boarding card at customs and promptly walked off leaving both behind to the annoyance of the officer!

At security Beth was questioned over her bag, the security guard pointing out the gun located by x-ray in the middle of her luggage to her horror. “It is your bag” he insisted, Beth almost in tears denying she was a terrorist. At which point the officer said with a smile, “only joking, it is only a picture”!

The flight back was good and we arrived slightly ahead of schedule. A bit of a let down at the airport again…. No coach!

After numerous phone calls and even being told that the coach was caught up in traffic on the M25 some 150 miles away our coach finally arrived just over an hour and a half after our plane had landed, but at least it gave Jade time to do her make-up.

Finally as we turned off the A5 into Norton a quick reminder that it is Mothers Day, a promise that we will have an après ski evening for all parents and students and a pleas for photo’s to come into school for the final presentation. We are greeted by parents, thank yous all around and fond farewells. After a year of planning the week has come and gone and everything is just that memory. Finally Mrs Spence and I are the last to leave, did I shut the gate? Oh well I’ll take the wrap in the morning – back to normal!

Dernière repas du soir nuits a été aussi bonne que la nourriture pendant toute la semaine et les brownies au chocolat a été très appréciée. La venue de la grâce à tous les fonctionnaires qui avaient rendu notre séjour si bon.
Une surprise vous remercie des élèves de M. F et un retour merci aux étudiants pour le tee-shirt grande et mousse au chocolat.
La soirée a été très relaxant avec une soirée cinéma permettant à chacun le temps d'emballer et d'obtenir plus de l'excitation de la Baggies battre Liverpool. Match du jour n'était pas une option comme avec le changement d'heure il ne viendrait pas sur jusqu'à 11:30 heure locale et tout le monde devait être en place pour 6:00 du matin.

Dimanche 3 avril

A 06h00 les montagnes se découpaient sur le ciel, bien que rapidement des nuances de pourpre au début zèbrent le paysage éclairant les sommets enneigés. Les élèves sont rapidement monter et descendre au petit déjeuner. Une vérification rapide du groupe Jeremy Doyle manque ... ils avaient la capacité de répondre à la frapper à la porte dans leur sommeil, puis baisse à nouveau. Enfin, ils se joindre à nous pour le petit déjeuner. Jade a été en place depuis quatre fixant son mascara et il ya un mélange d'excitation et de déception. Après le petit déjeuner il ya une réelle émotion que certains des étudiants dire au revoir au personnel qu'ils ont connu pour une semaine seulement, mais ont contribué à une mémoire qui dureront toute une vie. Les années passent et les noms se fanent, mais les images dans l'esprit de ski ou de planche à neige pour la première fois restera.

L'entraîneur arrive et nous charger rapidement. Une fois à bord et nous commençons notre tour de montagnes russes dans la vallée de traçage du parcours du Tour de France de chaque virage nom d'un héros différent de la lutte épique de l'homme et la machine contre les montagnes. Nous obtenons la base de la station et peut afficher le peu de neige est à gauche en haut et réaliser la chance que nous avons été. L'hôtel est complet pour les trois prochaines semaines et ce sera une lutte pour des groupes venant en jeu. Nous moteur sur le bas de la vallée de torsion et en tournant notre chemin à travers les villages avec les bouchons diminutif blanc regardant vers le bas sur l'utilisation d'appel d'offres au revoir. Heureusement, aucun des signes de Huey ou Ralph et aplatit le fond de la vallée, oups, j'ai parlé trop tôt, le bavardage commence à se former près en relief que notre décent est terminée. L'aéroport de Grenoble sera son cauchemar ne fait aucun doute normal. ins vérifier restreint, longues files d'attente et personne ne sache vraiment ce qui se passe. Pour le personnel Skibound il est un autre changement de routine même si plus pour les étudiants, c'est la fin d'un voyage unique, un voyage dans lequel ils ont tous appris quelque chose sur eux-mêmes et de leurs compagnons de voyage. Pour le personnel aussi, il a été une expérience formidable de voir des individus face à leurs défis personnels que ce soit sur les pentes ou tout simplement d'être loin de la maison ou la première fois.

Le personnel de la Belle Aurore ont été élogieux au sujet de nos élèves, peut-être nous regarder de trop près des défauts, mais je peux honnêtement dire que les étudiants ont continué à Norton avec leur réputation de se comporter et d'être un exemple positif à l'étranger. Juste un pic bouchon de neige à gauche comme on ferme sur le péage et l'aéroport de Grenoble.

Comme la batterie s'épuise sur l'ordinateur portable juste assez de temps pour un vote personnel de remerciement à l'ensemble du personnel qui ont contribué à une semaine de ski très réussie. Merci de donner votre temps et d'énergie, vous avez été loin de vos familles s'occuper de nos charges pour les sept jours, sur appel 24 heures par jour qu'il s'agisse de la maladie dans le milieu de la nuit ou des lunettes oubliée à mi-chemin sur une montagne. Je sais que les élèves sont reconnaissants et ils expriment leur gratitude tout à fait différemment. Merci de nous aider à changer et modeler la façon dont nos étudiants de Norton Canes View High School dans le monde. Si quelqu'un conteste plus l'expérience éducative d'un tel voyage, je dirais que monter à bord pour le voyage et vous aussi, vous revenez changé personne et si vous ne vous avez mangé dans la bonne profession. A la semaine de l'école est rien à ce qui a été appris cette semaine. Nous avons connu la géographie, la langue, l'éducation physique, histoire, économie, IT et les mathématiques de la vie. Qu'est-ce une honte si sa valeur est jugée uniquement si vous pouvez enregistrer un point de départ et les progrès réalisés par rapport aux critères fixés.

L'aéroport de Grenoble s'est avéré être très efficace, même si Colbie choisi d'acheter le plus gros pot de crème glacée tout comme nous allions à la douane et Chelsea remis son passeport et carte d'embarquement à la douane et s'éloigna rapidement en laissant les deux derrière au grand dam de l'agent !

À la sécurité Beth a été interrogé sur son sac, l'agent de sécurité en soulignant le pistolet situé par x-ray au milieu de ses bagages à son horreur. "Il est de votre sac at-il insisté, Beth presque en larmes niant qu'elle était un terroriste. A quel point l'officier a dit avec un sourire, "plaisante, c'est seulement une image"!

Le vol de retour a été bonne et nous sommes arrivés un peu plus tôt que prévu. Un peu de laisser tomber à l'aéroport ... à nouveau. Aucun entraîneur!

Après de nombreux appels téléphoniques et même dit que l'entraîneur a été pris dans la circulation sur l'autoroute M25 quelques 150 miles de notre entraîneur est finalement arrivé un peu plus d'une heure et demi après notre avion avait atterri, mais au moins il a donné Jade temps de faire son make-up.

Enfin, comme nous avons désactivé l'A5 dans Norton un petit rappel que c'est la fête des mères, une promesse que nous aurons une soirée après-ski pour tous les parents et les élèves et un moyens pour les photos à venir à l'école pour la présentation finale. Nous sommes accueillis par les parents, les remerciements tout autour et adieux. Après une année de planification de la semaine a passé et que tout est que la mémoire. Enfin, Mme Spence et moi sommes les derniers à quitter, ai-je fermer la porte? Eh bien je vais prendre l'envelopper dans la matinée - retour à la normale!

Last nights entertainment was the DISCO.... down at the Vallee Blanche with a school from Scotland. All ideas of doing the water jump when we heard that a member of staff from the Scottish school had fallen on the jump and was now in hospital will a shoulder broken in two places, a broken cheek and jaw and 37 stitches! The disco was a great night with Norton leading the dancing and singing. Andy Super Cooper was a revelation and undoubtedly got the whole show on the road. Kathryn watch out he'll be at the nationals next specialising in disco and house. A great social event with Norton students again at their best. It was interesting to meet our rep, Laura from two years ago who again commented on how pleasant and polite our students.

Saturday 2nd April

The sky was blue and the sun was already reflecting on the mountains as we came to breakfast on the final day of skiing and it was warm, too warm. Breakfast behind us and packed lunches in pocket we headed up the slopes. The instructors met us and again agreed to put the lessons in a four hour block with a half hour break on the slopes to allow groups to cover more distance and access the better snow up the mountain. A quick presentation to the instructors of a bottle of wine and then into ski groups. Everyone was to meet at the top of Pic Blanc later in the morning so all could experience the incredible views up so high.

Dominique demonstrated the avalanche equipment he carries, with spades, poles, transponders and a back pack that has a rip cord and inflates two balloons should he get caught in an avalanche.

All groups took advantage of the conditions and had a great last session of skiing. Mr F went out on some twin tip skis. Mr Farley's grouped camped out for lunch on a rocky outcrop just below 3000m with incredible views of the valley below. Unfortunately Andy C left a yellow patch in the snow.

A few falls reported throughout the session but everyone came off the slopes in one piece and tired. Colbie wants to stay and a number of the Norton Ski Team could cope with a few more days.

Back at the hotel and ski awards presented by the instructors and then time or everyone to shower, pack and prepare for the return journey.

Dinner tonight is Tortellini in a basil sauce for a starter, crispy chicken stir fry with rice, followe by chocolate brownies.

Tomorrow breakfast is at 6:30 and we leave at 7:15 a.m. , just a s the sun will be peaking over the top of the mountains.

Dernière divertissement nuits a été le DISCO .... vers le bas à la Vallée Blanche avec une école de l'Ecosse. Toutes les idées de faire le saut de l'eau quand nous avons entendu qu'un membre du personnel de l'école écossaise était tombé sur le saut et est maintenant à l'hôpital sera une épaule cassée à deux endroits, une joue et la mâchoire brisée et 37 points! Le disco a été une bonne nuit avec Norton leader de la danse et le chant. Andy Super Cooper a été une révélation, et sans doute obtenu tout le spectacle sur la route. Kathryn attention il sera à l'ressortissants spécialisée prochaine disco et house. Un grand événement social avec les étudiants Norton nouveau à leur meilleur. Il a été intéressant de rencontrer notre représentant, Laura il ya deux ans qui a de nouveau souligné à quel point agréable et polie à nos étudiants.

Samedi 2 avril

Le ciel était bleu et le soleil était déjà une réflexion sur les montagnes que nous sommes arrivés au petit déjeuner du dernier jour de ski et il faisait chaud, trop chaud. Petit déjeuner derrière nous et des paniers repas dans la poche nous nous sommes dirigés sur les pentes. Les instructeurs nous ont rencontrés et ont convenu de mettre à nouveau les enseignements dans un bloc de quatre heures avec une pause de une demi-heure sur les pistes pour permettre aux groupes pour couvrir plus de distance et d'accéder au meilleur de la neige sur la montagne. Une présentation rapide aux instructeurs d'une bouteille de vin, puis en groupes de ski. Tout le monde devait se réunir au sommet du Pic Blanc tard dans la matinée afin que tous puisse jouir des vues incroyables si haut.

Dominique démontré l'équipement d'avalanche, il porte, avec des pelles, des poteaux, des transpondeurs et un sac à dos qui a une corde de déchirure et gonfle deux ballons aurait-il pris dans une avalanche.

Tous les groupes ont profité des conditions et a eu une séance de dernière de ski. M. F est sorti sur certains skis twin tip. M. Farley regroupés campé pour le déjeuner sur un éperon rocheux juste en dessous de 3000m avec une vue incroyable sur la vallée. Malheureusement Andy C laissé une tache jaune dans la neige.

A quelques chutes signalé tout au long de la session, mais tout le monde venait en dehors des pistes en une seule pièce et fatigué. Colbie veut rester et un certain nombre de l'équipe de Norton Ski pourrait faire face à quelques jours de plus.

Callum pensait qu'il avait laissé son sac au sommet de la montagne et le ski, sur son poteau le coupant en deux ...

Retour à la cérémonie d'hôtel et de ski présentés par les instructeurs et puis le temps ou tout le monde à la douche, emballer et préparer pour le voyage de retour.

Dîner ce soir Tortellini dans une sauce au basilic pour une entrée, poulet croustillant sauté avec du riz, followe par brownies au chocolat.

Demain, c'est le petit déjeuner à 6h30 et nous partons à 7h15 du matin, tout comme le soleil sera un pic au-dessus des montagnes.

Friday 1st April

Everyone went to sleep quickly last night and even Jade was quiet, probably putting her make up on for the morning. When morning came the sky was blue and the sun was already peeking over the tops of the mountains on the other side of the valley. Today would be hot and with no new snow there was some concern for the nursery slopes. After breakfast off to the slopes. It was quite amazing to see the work that had been done by the mechanics over night. The slopes, although bare in places were again skiable.
All but the beginners groups headed up the mountain to find the best of the snow. After an hour or so the beginners headed to the top of the mountain to take in the views. Rumour has it you can see 1/5 of France from the top. At the top we were a kilometre and a half above the resort with incredible views. The top group headed again for Vaujaney although down the black run. The other groups spent most of the morning on the upper slopes.

Because of the unusual weather conditions the ski school had agreed to take our groups out for the whole morning and have lunch on the slopes and this proved to be a popular decision.

The weather was stunning throughout the day but again the snow had started to suffer by lunchtime. The final days skiing will be up high and hopefully the groups will only come down at the end of the day.

Lessons finished between 1:30 and 2:00 and we headed back to the hotel for a lazy afternoon and a chance to get ready for the evening Disco. After a brief rest a few of the students headed for the ice rink to put into practice a few of the tips offered by Mr Farley.

Tout le monde est allé dormir la nuit dernière et même rapidement Jade était calme, sans doute mettre son maquillage pendant la matinée. Le matin venu, le ciel était bleu et le soleil était déjà furtivement sur les sommets des montagnes de l'autre côté de la vallée. Aujourd'hui serait chaude et sans neige fraîche y avait un certain intérêt pour les pentes de pépinière. Après le petit déjeuner hors des pistes. Il était tout à fait étonnant de voir le travail qui avait été fait par la mécanique pendant la nuit. Les pentes, bien que nus dans des lieux ont été de nouveau skiable.
Tous les groupes débutants, mais dirigé vers la montagne pour trouver le meilleur de la neige. Après une heure ou les débutants se dirigea vers le sommet de la montagne pour profiter de la vue. Selon la rumeur, vous pouvez voir 1 / 5 de la France à partir du haut. Au sommet, nous ont été d'un kilomètre et demi au-dessus de la station avec des vues incroyables. Le groupe de tête dirigé de nouveau pour Vaujaney bien à la piste noire. Les autres groupes ont dépensé plus de la matinée sur les hauteurs.

En raison des conditions météorologiques inhabituelles l'école de ski avait accepté de prendre nos groupes sur toute la matinée et déjeuner sur les pistes et cela s'est avéré être une décision populaire.

Le temps était magnifique tout au long de la journée, mais encore une fois la neige avait commencé à souffrir l'heure du déjeuner. Les derniers jours de ski seront très haut et nous espérons que les groupes ne descendra à la fin de la journée.

Leçons finis 1:30-2:00 et nous sommes retournés à l'hôtel pour un après-midi et une chance de se préparer pour la soirée Disco. Après un bref repos quelques-uns des élèves qui se destinent à la patinoire de mettre en pratique quelques-uns des conseils offerts par M. Farley.

Les choses amusantes à partir d'aujourd'hui ....

Lee Harvey a détruit la moitié de son groupe.
Sam était au plus haut point dans la localité.
M. Porter s'est écrasé dans Dom et se tira.
M. Farley a passé plus de temps sur les remontées mécaniques de ski sur les pentes.
Mme Spence a chuté sur son œuf dur.
Colbie descendait une pente noir et qu'il a été.
Brad ski a été épique.

Thursday 31st March

Last nights evening entertainment was Invertigo. “What” I hear you say. Basically a rope adventure course strung up in the roof of the sports centre with a safety net and safety sides. Scooters and bikes across tight ropes along with a full range of challenging activities that were great fun. Designer Ryan did try landing on his face while Jacko chose to roll his ankle and limp home although there will be a very interesting photo of him with Brad to follow.

The morning brought no new snow although the temperature overnight had dropped and the snow canons had been in action. After breakfast we hit the slopes with all but the bottom group going up high. Fantastic views in the sunshine looking across France and into Italy in the other direction. The top group packed in the kilometres again and checked of the slopes covered.

Lunch at the hotel was the meatiest burger ever with fries and salad. Time for a quick rest and then back to the slopes. In the short time we were off the slopes the clouds had moved in and there was a threat of rain on the lower slopes. The afternoon went quickly although the snow is rapidly going. Tomorrow we will have to go up higher for any chance of reasonable skiing.

One of the instructors who has worked in the resort for twelve years said he had never seen such conditions. Fortunately nearly everyone is now competent enough to go up higher on the mountain.

The top group hit the black slopes and off piste to find the better snow with Mrs Spence who rumour has it had a little fall but no one was looking.

Ryan has been picken up poles.
Tom H is still wiping out half his group.
Lee H felt it was well worth going out.
Designer Ryan is still using his face to stop on occasions.
Super Cooper had a few wipe outs on the red slopes.
Alicia and Bethany went down the slopes fighting like Rock & Gravel from the Wacky Races making Eve and Paige look like the best of mates.
Annie goes straight down the slopes, turning is not an option.
Sam is getting stuck in.
“Dave” looks tough with his scarred eye!
Jade can only ski if her make up is done.
Harry hugged Tom on the slopes I hope this isn’t anything to do with Gay Ski Week.


Dinner tonight is Breaded Brie and Grosielle berries on a bed of mixed leaf salad followed by chicken breast with a honey and mustard glaze served with dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables with fruit salad for desert.

Evening entertainment is a games evening.

Dernière soirée de divertissement a été Invertigo nuits. "Quoi" Je vous entends dire. Fondamentalement, un parcours aventure corde pendre dans le toit du centre sportif avec un filet de sécurité et sur les côtés de sécurité. Scooters et motos à travers les cordes serrées avec une gamme complète d'activités stimulantes qui ont été très amusant. Designer Ryan a tenté un atterrissage sur son visage tandis que Jacko a choisi de déployer son domicile de la cheville et molle mais il y aura une photo très intéressante de lui avec Brad à suivre.

La matinée a pas de neige fraîche, bien que la température la nuit était tombée et les canons à neige ont été dans l'action. Après le petit déjeuner nous dévaler les pentes avec tous, mais le groupe va en bas en haut. Vue fantastique sous le soleil de la recherche en France et en Italie dans l'autre sens. Le groupe de tête emballés dans des kilomètres de nouveau et vérifié des pentes couvertes.

Déjeuner à l'hôtel a été la plus charnue burger jamais avec frites et salade. Le temps d'un repos rapide, puis de nouveau sur les pistes. Dans le court laps de temps nous étions en dehors des pistes, les nuages avaient déménagé à l'intérieur et il y avait une menace de pluie sur les pentes inférieures. L'après-midi s'est rapidement même si la neige est rapidement aller. Demain, nous aurons à monter plus haut pour n'importe quelle chance de ski raisonnable.

Un des instructeurs qui a travaillé dans la station pendant douze ans a déclaré qu'il n'avait jamais vu de telles conditions. Heureusement presque tout le monde est maintenant suffisamment compétents pour monter plus haut sur la montagne.

Le groupe de tête a frappé les pistes noires et hors-piste pour trouver la meilleure neige avec Mme Spence qui rumeur at-elle eu une petite chute, mais personne ne regardait.

Designer Ryan est encore en utilisant son visage d'arrêter à maintes reprises.

Alicia et de Béthanie, descendit les pentes se battre comme Rock & gravier de la prise de Wacky Races Eve et Paige ressemble le meilleur des compagnons.
Annie va droit vers le bas des pentes, les virages sont pas une option.
Sam est coincé en

Jade ne peut ski si son maquillage est fait.
Harry serra Tom sur les pentes J'espère que ce n'est pas quelque chose à voir avec Gay Ski Week.


Dîner ce soir panés Brie et petits fruits Grosielle sur un lit de mesclun suivie de poitrine de poulet avec un glaçage au miel et moutarde, pommes de terre dauphinoise et légumes avec une salade de fruits pour le dessert.

Soirée de divertissement est une soirée jeux.

Wednesday 30th March

The snow stopped in the early hours, roughly the same time that Bo started being sick and so it was a tired start to the day for some of the staff. By morning although tired the sickness was gone – too many sweets me thinks…

The mountains were white again but the temperature was already rising and soon the new snow would be melting. So a prompt start to the day was called for. The top group packed the kilometers in and visited Villard and Vaujaney in the morning although Mr Latham has tweaked his knee. The mid group progressed further up the mountain while the beginners took on a few more challenging slopes and improved their technique. On the way back Tom H managed to drop his pole from the lift but SuperSpence managed to retrieve it. Yesterday Lauren had done the same and Mr F had to trek half way up the mountain to find it.

Back at the hotel for lunch, curly chips and fish with salad and then a quick turn around to head back to the slopes. But just enough time for Dave to dive on his bed and hit his head on the bedside cabinet butterfly stitches at the ready. All sorted and mended we hit the slopes for the afternoon session. The sun was now quite strong and springs were appearing across the lower slopes. The beginners groups progressed further in confidence and although the snow was heavy going everyone had a great time. Entertaining moments… Kelsey skiing across the slopes and deciding to stop using a piste marker only to take it clean out of the ground and carry on across the slope with it in her arms! Colby skiing into a stream, Scott stepping into the same stream, there seems to be some confusion with water skiing and snow skiing…. Jeremy Doyle heading back to watch his TV show.

Back at the hotel and the conversational French lessons finished with some excellent contributions from Kelsey. A few flurries of snow but not enough to make an impact. Lets hope this evening brings more.

Dinner was french onion soup followed by beef bourguignon with rice and for desert crepes. Then off to the sports centre for "invertigo". An asault type course strung above a safety net that proved great fun for everyone, especially the onlookers.

A number of very tired bodies in need of an early night if they are to get the most from skiing tomorrow. The temperature is dropping but still no sign of snow, it could mean going up high in the morning and trying to find the balance between snow and ice.

La neige a cessé dans les premières heures, à peu près en même temps que Bo a commencé à être malade et si c'était un début de fatigue à un jour pour certains membres du personnel. Au matin, bien fatigué la maladie avait disparu - trop de sucreries, ce me semble ...

Les montagnes étaient blanches à nouveau, mais la température était déjà en hausse et bientôt la neige fraîche serait de fusion. Ainsi, un démarrage rapide de la journée a été demandée. Le groupe de tête a emballé le kilomètres et visité Villard et Vaujaney du matin, bien que M. Latham a tordu le genou. Le groupe à la mi progressé plus haut dans la montagne tandis que les débutants ont pris une pente peu plus difficile et d'améliorer leur technique. Sur le chemin du retour Tom H a réussi à laisser tomber son pôle de l'ascenseur, mais SuperSpence réussi à le récupérer. Hier, Lauren avait fait la même et M. F a faire de la randonnée à mi-chemin dans la montagne pour le trouver.

Retour à l'hôtel pour le déjeuner, croustilles bouclés et le poisson avec de la salade, puis un tour rapide autour de la tête en arrière sur les pistes. Mais juste assez de temps pour Dave de plonger sur son lit et s'est cogné la tête sur les points de chevet papillon cabinet à la main. Tous triés et recommandé nous lancer sur les pentes de la session de l'après-midi. Le soleil était déjà très forte et les ressorts ont été figurant dans le bas des pentes. Les groupes débutants ont encore progressé en confiance et bien que la neige était lourde tout le monde va bien amusés. Recevoir moments ... Kelsey ski sur les pentes et de décider de cesser d'utiliser un marqueur de piste que de prendre le nettoyer de la terre et continuer à travers la pente avec elle dans ses bras! Colby ski dans un ruisseau, Scott monter dans le même flux, il semble y avoir une certaine confusion avec le ski nautique et le ski .... Jeremy Doyle de rentrer pour regarder son émission de télévision.

Retour à l'hôtel et les leçons de conversation français a terminé avec quelques excellentes contributions de Kelsey. Quelques averses de neige de la neige mais pas assez pour avoir un impact. Espérons que ce soir apporte plus.

Tuesday 29th March

Although the temperature dropped last night there was no new snow and so some of the lower slopes are starting to look a little bare. Breakfast was great and all the students were up bright and ready to ski. Although the snow is on the ground the sun this morning was strong and it was important that everyone got the sun block on. The temperature started to climb and more snow has started to disappear. The slopes were icy this morning and proved to be a little challenging for some although with the true Norton spirit the students responded to the challenge and at the end of the morning the comments from the instructors were very positive. Back at the hotel lunch was waiting, spaghetti carbonara, salad and crusty bread with fresh fruit for desert. Ryan Picken did have thirds and for someone so small he can really eat! A passing comment from Chace was that he was “just checking Brad out” – any idea what that was about? Answers on a postcard please… The afternoon session got off to a good start with Connor forgetting his lift pass and having to return to the hotel to get it and then back to the slopes. Everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoons skiing with helicopter rescues being practiced overhead and paragliders landing alongside us. Back at the hotel Doylo was well into the Jeremy Kyle Show and just a little red faced, I think it was the sun, and then everyone spent some time doing schoolwork. Points of interest: Callum said “hi” to everyone. Ryan fell on top of Tom H. Designer boy Ryan fell off his board. And three other people have the same jacket. Kieran in now Kevin. Dan is Dave. Andy C is playing pool with his jeans half way down his bum and he’s smiling. Eve said she fancies no one here. Ryan said he’s not sleeping with Tom! Scott said Ethan’s stunk the room out… Brad hit his head on a a rock but we are not being charged for the damage to the rock. Jack Farish is hitting the syrop shots. Scott is now a skier. Beth is devleoping horizontal skiing Hannah skiis in a full face mask with tweety pie on. Mr F's face is cut from Annie's ski Colbie is just LOUD At last a bit of free time and a wander around the town for some. While Doylo is telling everyone to be quiet because he’s watching Jeremy Kyle still! Dinner tonight is vegetable soup followed by roast pork with rustic potatoes, vegetables and apple sauce and apple tart for desert. Vegetarian option tonight is vegetable roulade. Evening entertainments – Quiz night with prizes. 18:00 and the clouds are moving in, with any luck there will be some much needed snow this evening and tonight. Beth thinks the ski instructor is hot - must be the sun! And Alicia likes the tall one with the beard thing going on!
Early evening snow has turned to rain and now we have to hope as the temperature drops again it will turn back to snow.

The quiz is also a pyjama party and the first arrival in the games room is Callum in his pink Sonic PJ's and Jeromy Doyle in his Superman boxers. Paige is modelling a bunny rabbit jump suit while Lee Harvey has a rose coloured off the shoulder négligée.



Bien que la température a chuté hier soir, il n'y avait pas de neige fraîche et si quelques-uns des pentes inférieures commencent à regarder un peu nu. Les pentes sont glacées ce matin et s'est avéré être un défi pour certains, bien que peu avec le véritable esprit Norton les élèves ont relevé le défi et à la fin de la matinée, les commentaires des instructeurs ont été très positifs. Retour à l'hôtel déjeuner attendait, spaghettis carbonara, salade et pain croustillant avec des fruits frais en dessert. Ryan Picken eu tiers et pour quelqu'un de si petit qu'il peut vraiment manger! Un commentaire en passant de Chase, c'est qu'il était «juste vérifier Brad out" - une idée de ce qui allait? Réponses sur une carte postale s'il vous plaît ... L'après-midi a connu un bon départ avec Connor oublier son forfait de ski et d'avoir à retourner à l'hôtel pour l'obtenir, puis de nouveau sur les pistes. Tout le monde semblait apprécier le ski l'après-midi avec l'hélicoptère de sauvetage pratiqué d'atterrissage des parapentes et des frais généraux à nos côtés. Retour à l'hôtel Doylo était bien dans le Show Jeremy Kyle et juste un peu rouge face, je pense que c'était le soleil, et puis tout le monde a passé quelques temps à faire des travaux scolaires. Points d'intérêt: Callum a dit "salut" à tout le monde. Ryan est tombé sur Tom H. Designer Ryan garçon est tombé de son conseil d'administration. Kieran en maintenant Kevin. Dan est David. Andy C est en jouant au billard avec son jean mi-chemin de son cul et il sourit. Eve a dit, elle croit que personne ici. Ryan a dit qu'il ne dort pas avec Tom! Scott a déclaré Ethan puait l'espace pour ... Enfin un peu de temps libre et une balade dans la ville pour certains. Bien que Doylo est révélateur à chacun d'être tranquille parce qu'il regarde Jeremy Kyle encore! Dîner ce soir soupe de légumes suivie par le rôti de porc avec pommes de terre rustiques, des légumes et compote de pommes et la tarte aux pommes pour le dessert. option végétarienne est ce soir roulade de légumes. Soirées - Soirée Quiz avec des prix.

Bumboarding

Dinner was again excellent, Hunters chicken with rice followed by profiteroles. Evening entertainment was bumboarding, all came back in one piece and had great fun. Lots of tired folk around but the hot chocolate back at the hotel seems to have revived one or two who were flagging. Pool in pyjamas seems to be a favourite past time and the competition between Jack's spacemen and Brad spongebob is very close.

Le dîner était à nouveau excellente, le poulet avec du riz chasseurs suivie par profiteroles. Activités en soirée a été bumboarding, tout est revenu dans une seule pièce et se sont bien amusés. Beaucoup de gens fatigués, mais autour du chocolat chaud retour à l'hôtel semble avoir redonné vie à un ou deux qui étaient en déclin. Piscine en pyjama semble être un passe-temps favori et la concurrence entre les astronautes de Jack et Brad spongebob est très proche

Monday 28th April

The snow stopped in the early hours and was we awoke to a white landscape, slightly overcast although the sun was forcing its way through. Everyone was down promptly for breakfast and then off to the slopes for the first mornings skiing. The groups split and headed for the slopes as the sun broke through.
La neige a cessé dans les premières heures et a été nous nous sommes réveillés dans un paysage blanc, légèrement couvert, bien que le soleil était forcer son chemin à travers. Tout le monde a diminué rapidement pour le petit déjeuner et puis en route pour les pistes pour le ski premiers matins. Les groupes de diviser et se dirigea vers les pentes que le soleil perce.

An impressive first session with a great buzz from all. Snowboarders did well and the general feeling was that everyone couldn’t wait to get back on the slopes. Top ski group were flying although the lack of ski fitness from one or two is starting to show through. Lunch was popular, pizza, chips, salad. Just enough time to eat and have a drink before heading back to the slopes for the afternoon session. Bum boarding planned or tonight and I think it will be a quiet evening with one or two very tired young people.

Une session impressionnante d'abord avec un grand buzz de tous. Les snowboarders ont bien fait et le sentiment général était que tout le monde ne pouvait pas attendre pour revenir sur les pistes. Groupe de ski Top volaient bien que le manque d'aptitude de ski d'un ou deux est en train de montrer à travers. Le déjeuner était populaire, pizza, frites, salade. Juste le temps de manger et de boire un verre avant de rentrer sur les pistes pour l'après-midi. "Bum" embarquement prévu ou ce soir et je pense que ce sera une soirée tranquille avec un ou deux très fatigués jeunes.

Evening..

Tea was great despite anything the students may say. Lamb with green beans and roast potatoes with rosemary. Followed by lemon torte with passion fruit. It's still snowing and looking good for the morning. Kids are shattered and heading for bed early (hopefully). Breakfast is early tomorrow and we need to on the slopes for 9:00.

Oh yes, its still snowing.

Le thé a été grande, malgré tout ce que les élèves peuvent dire. Agneau aux haricots verts et pommes de terre rôties au romarin. Suivi par torte citron avec fruits de la passion. Il neige toujours et très bon pour le matin. Les enfants sont brisées et partez à coucher tôt (on l'espère). Le petit déjeuner est demain matin et nous devons, sur les pentes de 9:00.

Oh oui, sa neige toujours.

Sunday 27th March

An early start for everyone and many never even went to bed. Despite losing an hour everyone was ready fro a reasonably prompt departure. The trip to Manchester was uneventful and check proved to be reasonably straight forward. Minor hiccup when Ryan tried to take almost every banned item through security. Burger King provided breakfast for a few and then in no time at all we were boarding.
I can't comment to much on the flight as I was awoken by the applause on landing. Grenoble airport is still a collection of temporary buildings. Transfer to the resort was less than two hours. It was interesting how quiet it became as we started the climb up to the resort with its 21 hairpin bends.
Lunch was soup, salad and bread - really enjoyable.
Ski fit was efficient the only problem being trying to find a pair of boots for Brad's "big gastronemeous"! The word of the week is DEFCO, answers on a postcard please or even via the blog.
Oh yes and it hasn't stopped snowing since we got here.
Lots of tired bodies as we move closer to the town trail and then dinner. Hopefully everyone will want an early night ready for being on the slopes at 9:00 tomorrow.

Un départ matinal pour tout le monde et beaucoup ne sont même allés au lit. Malgré la perte de heure chacun était prêt vient un départ relativement rapide. Le voyage à Manchester s'est déroulé sans incident et vérifier avéré être relativement simple. Mineure hoquet lorsque Ryan a essayé de prendre presque tous les articles interdits par la sécurité. Burger King a fourni le petit déjeuner pour quelques-uns et puis en un rien de temps nous étions d'embarquement.
Je ne peux pas commenter trop sur le vol que j'ai été réveillé par les applaudissements à l'atterrissage. L'aéroport de Grenoble est toujours un ensemble de bâtiments temporaires. Transfert à la station était de moins de deux heures. Il était intéressant de voir comment il est devenu calme que nous avons commencé la montée vers la station avec ses 21 virages en épingle à cheveux.
Le déjeuner était soupe, une salade et du pain - vraiment agréable.
Ajustement de ski a été efficace, le seul problème étant essayer de trouver une paire de bottes pour Brad "gastronemeous grands"! Le mot de la semaine est Defco, des réponses sur une carte postale s'il vous plaît ou même via le blog.
Oh oui, et il n'a pas cessé de neiger depuis notre arrivée ici.
Beaucoup de corps fatigués que nous nous rapprochons de la piste de la ville, puis le dîner. J'espère que tout le monde voudra un début de nuit prête à être sur les pistes de demain 09h00.
